Eight Below

short-talk:

My computer is back! Revived! Thanks to Shawn. It's purified. It's remedied. When i scanned my pendrive with the newly installed Avira anti virus, 7 Trojans were detected springing around in my pendrive. **phew**

Kudos to Avira, the red umbrella... Ella ella... eh eh under my umbrella..la la la...

Lets put assignments and stresses at one side, right at the far end of the corner. Take a deep deep breathe, relax your mind and lets right now focus our utter attention on movie!

Movie movie ohh movie... Ever since i'm so busy with my endless assignments, watching movie has gradually swayed away from my daily agenda. How sad it is to live a student life without movies right?

Thank God that on my last Youth Cell group of meet up, we had a slightly more relaxing programme. Movie Night!

Finally! **relieve**

If you haven't watched "Eight Below", i do recommend you to watch it either alone or with your peeps. Movie that you won't regret of watching. Who knows you might even credit me after watching it. *grin*

Personally, when it comes to my own preference for movie, I would opt for movies that are based on true story, inspiring and motivating narration rather than investing my cherished time in the wrong and wasteful movie.

Obvious example: Meet the Spartans. Worst of all time! Gishh..

Eight Below.

Why Eight Below? Initially i thought the movie is only permitted for those who are below 8 to watch. Cartoon? Nah... It's actually referred to the Eight huskies live in Antarctica and why below? Ermm.. duno eh..

And the sentence in the poster above said it all, The most amazing story of survival, friendship and adventure ever told.

I found this short plot somewhere on net.

"Inspired by a true story, "Eight Below" is an exciting action-adventure about loyalty and the bonds of friendship set in the extreme wilderness of Antarctica.

The film tells the story of three members of a scientific expedition: Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker), his best friend, Cooper
(Jason Biggs), and a rugged American geologist (Bruce Greenwood), who are forced to leave behind their team of beloved sled dogs due to a sudden accident and perilous weather conditions in Antarctica.

During the harsh, Antarctic winter, the dogs must struggle for
survival alone in the intense frozen wilderness for over 6 months."

Worth watching indeed! Those huskies are truly cute and cool-looking of cause, but beyond the outward appearance, i am deeply inspired and moved by the characters and qualities inhered in life of those huskies.

How each of the huskies take up greater responsibility when the owner is not around for a long period. When the winter attacks. When there is no more food. When the temperature is getting colder and colder and colder...

Perseverance. Team work. Obedience. Endurance. Encouragement. Friendship. Sacrificial spirit. Every single extraordinary quality lies in those huskies. It's truly amazing.

Reckoning to what i have watched, I have learned much. I believe my care group members have also captured some examples. Comparing of what i am going through in life with those huskies', it's just incomparable.

The deep and solid bonds of friendship is tested during afflictions and trials. How the simple word 'Friendship' and 'Teamwork' actually play such significant roles during difficulties and endurance. I learned.

If God can use His creation, huskies to inspire us and even behave in such manners, setting the right example for us, what more to say we, human?

Many times we tend to complain and grumble a lot when we don't receive the things that we yearn for. And we fail to realize that we actually have the things we need. We give up easily in our struggles and trials. We never even tried to persevere a little bit more. We never thought of putting a little more effort and hang on. If only we do that, the end result will definitely be in satisfaction. But we failed. We fail to help and offer a little aid to our friends who are in need and lack of support. We are cocky in our action and behavior when we know other people are not as good as us. We show no respect to our leaders.

Thinking and reflecting upon each line, we seriously do have countless of weaknesses and mistakes to be dealt with. I learned.

Bucked up! Don't give up!

Do watch if you have a chance. Spread the news!
