Civil Engineering Project

Short-Talk:

3 months of holiday! Fungus will grow on my skin if i don't spend my time wisely!

------------------------------------------------

Finally, my first year has almost come to an end. **Shout for joy!** Everything seems to be so vacant now for me. For the past few weeks, i was so so hectic and tension until volcanoes started to burst out. **Gosh.**

Nonetheless, it would absolutely be great if you do allow me to introduce, Swinburne's most torturing-sickening-yet-worth-it- subject.

Civil Engineering Project!!! 30 students were divided into 5 groups, with the different group names: Swin-Tech, Age-wac, Team, Three Degrees, and **Drum rolls** my group .....

Ingeniero, from Spanish word which means "Engineers". Find difficulty in pronunciation? No worries, just pronounce it this way -Angie-Near-Lo- .

Before i move to loads of master piece arts, i got to briefly explain the whole project FIRST. So you better don't scroll down your scroll bar!!

Basically, we are given a super huge project whereby we need to conquer the waterfront area and the opposite riverbank. There will be some land reclamation at the wet market area for proposed buildings purposes. Build what le?

12-storey twin towers, 4-storey shopping mall, 3-storey basement car park, pedestrian bridge link to DUN area, botanical garden, and some renovations at the waterfront site.

How much does whole project cost? 500 millions!!! (Of cause, this is just a *fake* project).

3-D modeling starts now!

The masterplan layout.

The scale is 1:1000. Understand? For those who fail geography, it means every measurement divides by 1000. Understand boi?

Everything sounds interesting and easy yea? Wrong wrong wrong, and it left only 4 weeks to complete all the lot before the final presentation. Gears up and let's get started!

Setting up the terrain.

Done with our terrain. Next, its our mini structures. Okay, this is really tough k, because our scale is way too tiny compares to other groups. The statement goes, "The smaller the scale is, the harder it is to build."

Our first building.

Fort Margherita. See how tiny it is, compares to that highlighter. Cute eh... done by Aldrin.

Khatulistiwa Cafe

"Never despise at Aldrin smaller size people, the tiny fingers that he has they have, have made our life easier."

How about me, with standard size fingers.

JADE POINT. The reason why we name it "Jade" is of its greenish appearance which matches with the environment. **Sounds so ** This was 100% done by me me me me...... it took me 1 whole week just to build those structures. Stress nya...

3-storey basement car park. Amazed or amazing??? **Wuahaha** Just right behind the buildings, there's a ...

Al-Fresco dining cafe.

Square Tower

The existing fountain has been renovated. The four "L" shape thingy are actually the new proposed musical fountain. The round platform that encircles the Square Tower is actually a screen fountain. Canggih le...

Placing those structures on our terrain has only filled 23.33% of our workload.

Pedestrian Bridge.

Our landmark statue.

Okay, you got to be stunned by this crazy art. That teeny-weeny horn bill stands proudly on the column is actually smaller than one biji of the nasi. Imagine if that horn bill drops on a dark-colored carpet. Wuahahaha..

Botanical Garden!

The whole shooting match was down to only 4 days left and we haven't even touched our garden! **cham cham**This was the root that caused all of us to sacrifice our snoozing time. Most of our team members slept at 5am.....6.30am ... 7 am.. just for the sake of completing those garden. Gsshhhh.....

Rushing rushing.

Still working hard on it. Pia-ing..

Setting up our river.

Our garden is divided into several sections, such as Multi-Theme garden, some jogging tracks, conservatory house, bla bla bla...

Flower Garden and Reflexology Path.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The Flower Garden (left side) looks easy to build yea? Guess what, just to make one trees, it takes us approximately 15 minutes ~~~ Slice the toothpick into a proper size.... trim the leaves ... so mahuan-nya~~ On the right side is the Reflexology Path (i make de....wuahaha), I did not realized that it appeared to be a clown face when it was done.

Is it a sign that i am really funny in person??

Japanese Garden, done by Soon.

Frankly, this is so so so appealing. The pavement is actually covered by REAL white sand.

Let's take a look at Johnson's product.

Chinese Garden.

Man, you got to love my art.

How is it? Spend some time to enjoy the garden first.

Cool eh..

Amphitheater

The building will face the lake which gives the public a more refreshing look. Musical performance or big events can be held there. The empty space in front of the building is for marriage reception. Cool le ...

Conservatory House

Sui or not? Various plants from all over the world can be safely placed inside the building. Not going to explain further, it is actually a floating conservatory. Wuahaha..

Enlarged model.

Outstanding eh.. done by Soon.

Not forgetting that, we have a Pumping Station too.

With all of these mini structures placed together, everything will look like this ..

Swin-Tech.

Arr.. paiseh arr.. no Age-Wec's model....Forget to take their's ba.. haha..Abubu, don't stone me eh~~

And you have the judges.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Seriously, they are so so dull looking judges throughout the entire presentation. Frankly, in times i do wonder why most of the engineers seem to appear to be much more melancholy. Is it when engineers grow older, their enthusiasm will also decrease gradually? I wouldn't want to be part of the papaya clique.

To wrap up everything ... i am really proud of my team. Without a doubt, it is so stressful for the past few weeks just to complete our models. Their sacrificial spirits has enlighten the hard work.

Thanks guy. You guys are great. Hopefully we will gain good grade for this! Angie-Near-Lo rocks!! Wishfully that Ting Pek King might bumped unto our models and buy from us. Stop dreaming Johnson!

Lastly,

Ah!!! Impressive!! Stunning!!! Awesome!!!! Outstanding!!!!! Out of this world!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! I must say I am really impressed with the whole thing, and it's such a great idea...if only it would come true in Kuching...really great piece of work...neat!! Haha..the reason why I said I wana stone u bro, is because the so-called papaya looking architect (ur judge) happens to be my uncle!! I must admit that as a child, I used to be very afraid of him as well as he's always very strict looking. It's only in these few yrs when I get to communicate with him more then I realised how funny he can get as well. Well bro, appreciate U lots but just remember to watch out if u wana criticise others....haha...or better still, don't criticise... :D
