A Break

short-talk:

Two deaths occur within one day. My friend's dad passed away, Taib's wife passed away. *exhale* It makes me realize how fragile our lives are. God can just easily snap Hisfingers and call us back. But, are we ready?

Only one life to live, let's live to the fullest and live it purposefully.

------------------------------------------------------

Bingo! As predicted, life in Year 3 will not going to be that unchallenging and relaxing! Every subject is flooded with loads of assignments and research reports. It's already Week 8 and as accurate as i can count in the mean time, I have 2 assignments due next week, 1 lab report, 3 research report, 3 presentation, 3 assignments to be completed!!

And i have only 7 more weeks left!!!! *insane* Whilst i notice most of my peers are under high pressure at present, staying up late at ungodly hours, i think it is wise to have a break and chill out sikit la~~~

There's a saying that goes, "Have a break, have kit-kat." My version reads "Have a break, have Mcflurry!"

Kudos to McFlurry for injecting extra umph into me. I wonder whether this has turned into my new addiction. For the past days while i was doing assignments with my friends at late night, i would be tempted to grab a cup of McFlurry and sit back and just relax..... but....Why??!!

I thought i'm supposed to dislike Mcdonald punya???

Forsake?

short-talk:

Steel.....steal.....still......steel *suffocated*

-------------------------------------------------------

I have been hearing good feedbacks about Gmail recently. Seems like people are now liking Gmail more than Yahoo. Why?~~

I am still faithfully using my main Yahoo account that i signed up 9 years ago until today. But....

The only question keeps spinning at the moment is, Should i switch to Gmail and forsake my Yahoo account? I'm not going to have two main account though...

You gonna help me now! *yell*

Comments:

Both works fine.

As of Q1 2008, Yahoo offers unlimited storage while Gmail provides several gigabytes of storage. While it is tempting to get an e-mail account with as much storage space as possible, believe me when I say that you will NEVER EVER reach the upper limit of the storage! How much e-mails do you keep anyway, right?

In terms of interface, I like Yahoo Mail better. Bear in mind that I am using the Yahoo Mail Beta (as opposed to Yahoo Mail Classic). While a bit slow to load at times, I like its layout of using tabs as opposed to Gmail's more traditional interface.

However, Gmail boasts better spam protection and faster load speeds.

And yes, both are susceptible to virus infections and hacks.

I have both Gmail and Yahoo. However, I stuck to my Yahoo account mainly because I started on Yahoo first.

While Gmail seems to be the better account (in terms of features), it doesn't have any features significant enough to make me feel compelled to make the switch.

Gmail may be better, but Yahoo works just fine =)

Her talent

short-talk:

Prune vs. prune juice?

-------------------------------------------------

Her name and her voice keep spinning in my mind. I just couldn't resist from watching at her only show, listening to her voice and be reminded of how judgmental we are in judging others based on outward appearance at all times.

Yet, her performance has given a wake up call to, not only Britain, but all of us. And it evokes me to realize that everyone is truly gifted in one way or the other. The fact is, our Creator makes everyone of us so unique that He places one or more talents in us. You have yours and i have mine. That's why it is known as Special Talent! Yeap, the inner beauty of your potential which surpasses your outward appearance.

**I'm listening to her song again.**

She is Susan Boyle.

Comments:

Yup! She is amazing alrite!!=D Let us all give a standing ovation for her~ *Thank you*=p
Seeing her sing so beautifully really makes me think that everyone of us really do have a special something from within..=) Only that it will take us a whole lot of courage for some of us to show it...=)
So, what do you think your special talents are? Whatever they are, THANK GOD for it!=D

Tight

short-talk:

I'm gonna do extra research on this guy, Rickey Minor. Interesting...

-----------------------------------------------------

Semester break starts now.

WHOA!
That's the only word I can scoop out from my mind at the moment. Thanks to my merciless and brilliant lecturers for slotting many assignments and research reports for us. I have 3-4 assignments to complete within 2 weeks. That's insane! I have no idea how am i going to balance and plan for my timetable wisely, which assignment to prioritize first. Nonetheless, let me do what i can for now.

Perhaps, this cartoon has given me extra umph!

Till then, let's together shout W-H-O-A! **exhale**

I touched it!

short-talk:

One bird down, five birds are flying towards my direction....adui...Assignment~~

-------------------------------------------------------

You gotta believe this man, I touched a Hedgehog today!!! *puffed up!*

Photobucket
I did not touch this white Hedgehog, too innocent to be touched.

You may heard a lot about Hedgehog, or perhaps for some of you, this may even be your first time seeing the word "Hedgehog". Whatever is it, their spines are undeniably a hinder for many to have the guts to actually touch them. Even for me, I fear that the little hedgehog might just release its spines and poke me, then i get poisoned and die. *choy!*

Be that as it may, the fact is that Hedgehogs, in real life, are actually innocuous. They are cute! Too cute until i couldn't resist my temptation to touch their spines for at least one time. And i did, I touched a HEDGEHOG!!!

Photobucket
I touched this!

Thank God, it did not release its spine~~

Don't you think this Hedgehog look innocent and just just cute??!! Irresistible man! Since i have already touched the spines of Hedgehog, perhaps my next mission is to touch Porcupines' spines.

Hmm...dare me? =P

My First Cup

Grilling

Yea, that's what i had before i went to Starbucks at an ungodly hour. My tummy was bloated with those buttery meats and over grilled sausages. Following this, my friends suggested to go to Starbucks.

I ordered it and i wasted it. This was all what i could think of in Starbucks. Believe it or not, i have never ordered myself any drinks from Starbucks even though it is such a well known place scattered around Kuching. Thinking of getting myself a relatively cheap and nice drink, i told the order taker to prepare me a drink which is less than Rm10, cheap and nice.

And he asked me whether i want to top on extra creamy stuff and some other Starbucks-ish terms, as naive as i was, i nodded my head.

Photobucket

In the end, the drink that he has prepared for me, cost me literally Rm15 plus plus!!!! **whack the order taker, tipu my duit** Knowing that i have just wasted paid Rm15 for a cup of Chocolate, I tried my very best to sup off every single drop in that cup. But I conceded half way through, and blessed the remaining half to my friend. Put the complete blame on Steamboat for bloating my limited tummy space. iisshhh....

Photobucket

Yea, perhaps that was what one would do when he knew he had just wasted Rm15.25 on a cup of Chocolate when he could just grab a cup of classy Coffee instead. Hmmphh....

Stop giggling bah, at least i ever ordered something in Starbucks right.

I think it taste just alright! XD

We are the reason

short-talk:

"As a driver, patience is something you admire at the back, yet despise in front." Funny huh...yet sounds utterly true!

---------------------------------------------------------

Once there was this Man, Jesus. He carried the cross for you and me up to Golgotha. The world despised Him.

Nails pierced through His hands and legs. He's like a Rose trampled on the ground. He took our sins. If He did not resurrect on the third day, as claimed by Him, every teaching and commandment preached by Him before He's crucified would be in vain. Yet, on the third day, He has risen. He overcame death and was resurrected. He fulfilled every prophecy in the bible that was prophesied even before He was born. The promised Messiah of Israel. Indescribable. Unexplainable. Yet it is fulfilled.

Golgotha

For the Risen of Christ is beyond and outside of history. This is the reason why i choose to believe and why i choose to follow. It's more than just a mere historical event. It's more than just a mere traditional ceremony. It is more than just a religion, it is a relationship with a God, a Creator and a Savior.

Blessed Good Friday and Easter celebration people!

Comments:

Blessed Easter everyone and do remember to keep up with your RELATIONSHIP with the ONE and ONLY SAVIOUR...also known as our DADDY. :) GBU bro..jia U for your assignments and tests. Take care.

IEAust

short-talk:

"Let the power of mother nature work for you!" Say Yes to Fresh Apple! *bite*

------------------------------------------------------

I am still in the midst of adjusting myself into a three-legged octopus. Suffocated with three heavy-and-not-so-heavy assignments. Steel assignment, Engineering management research, Road engineering assignment. Deadline -Coming week-

Meanwhile, i am proud to declare to the whole world that ....

Photobucket
Golden card

Yes! Johnson Woan is officially a member of Institution of Engineering Australia. *puff up!* I am now one of the 400 IEAust members from Malaysia! **Hip hip hooray**...Don't ask me what's the benefits of being a member of IEAust, because firstly, i'm unsure too. Secondly, my lecturer forced asked me to register. Lastly, I think it's just cool to register as one.

Okay okay, i am just a student member of IEAust, not professional engineer yet.

I call this THE Golden card in my wallet. By all means, I have an international wallet now. Seriously man, I just feel extra patriotic when i am registered as a member of Engineering Australia. Weird.

*times up!* Gonna hands off from blogging and starts to fulfill my role as a Three-legged octopus.

At least i update my blog ba.....=P

Comments:

You sounded like you can't wait to move to Australia to live your live there...=)
And I'm kinda curious about the course you're taking now...Engineering... How did you at first know that you really wanted to be an engineer? Is it because you have the knowledge or it's because of the interest itself?

By Anonymous Janey, at Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 2:29:00 AM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

Janey: Thanks for dropping by. At the first place, i also don't really sure which discipline should i take. But i am pretty sure engineering is a course that i do find "passion" in it. Thus, knowledge and technical skills come later when i start to get myself to touch more about Civil Engineering. :) Hopefully i have answered your curiosity. take care!

By Blogger Johnson, at Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:12:00 AM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

wow! way to go johnson! I should have gone to that talk also! too bad i missed it. Hahaha. Lol.

Janey: i guess that knowledge and interest do play a part in making ur decisions. In the long run, perhaps johnson thought engineering would be something he would nejoy doing for the rest of his life, Hence his decision was made.

By Blogger MAMAMIA, at Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:14:00 AM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

Finally an update...seems like there's no news from u recently...disappeared from earth temporarily...anyway, glad to know u r hiding in the library and not disappeared...haha..do take care of ur health o bro...drink more water...proper sleep, go toilet more often, eat healthily...unfortunately, the pic of ur card doesn't show up...the benefit of becoming a member of IEA in the long run I guess, would be that you need to pay for annual fee which will cost you heaps..haha..and u can get that deducted from your tax payment..haha...Jia U bro!! :)

By Anonymous Mr. W, at Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:13:00 PM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

Johnson: So I see...=) So what is your advice for someone who is planning to take Civil Engineering, but find no passion in it at all..?? I mean maybe that person has other things in his mind but...he is in a situation that made (or forced) him into taking Civil Engineering knowing that he will have to work extra extra hard for it... =/
Is it worth taking the risk?

By Anonymous Janey, at Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:35:00 PM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

mr.w : yea, i did hear about the monthly payment thingy if one wants to be an official member of it. So now, since i have the "privilege" of becoming one FOC. better value it and grab this membership card...lol..!! Yea, do keep me in prayer yea! Tx dude! =D

By Blogger Johnson, at Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:42:00 PM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

janey: One thing that i believe in studying is passion. The passion that you have in choosing the right discipline you want. It is impossible to plan in taking CE if there is no passion in it at the first place. It's contradicting yea. Whether it is forced by parents or no other disciplines to choose from. After all, in the long run, it is still depend on the capability of the person in bringing forth his career, how far he will go. But one thing i do believe, "Passion" can drive one's career further....

Btw, do i know you?

By Blogger Johnson, at Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:59:00 PM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

Sorry...Nope, I don't think you know me =) and I don't know you too... Just that I was attracted by your slogan/motto "All For God", which I think is a very powerful message..so I liked dropping by... I hope you don't mind it =)cuz for now, I'm in need of finding a guide..

By Anonymous Janey, at Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 6:26:00 PM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

janey: i see..ei, i never know i have a motto -All for God-. Hehe..where did you find it? ok. so hope that you will find your guide. Are you doing Engineering in Swinburne?

By Blogger Johnson, at Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 7:25:00 PM GMT+8

----------------------------------------------------------

I don't know where I found it... I was just browsing through the blogs then it just kinda pop into my screen, then the rest is just like that...haha =) And yes, you can say that I'm doing my Engineering in Swinburne=)
