Acclaim enthusiastically to the whole world, this coming 23rd August, Saturday is Swinburne Grand Opening. Fabulous! Swinburne University of Technology will officially celebrate its 100th anniversary and embark on its building.

The G-R-A-N-D Opening.

Bear in mind that this ceremony will not just be another typical outset you encounter in all places. As for Swinburne's, there will be chancellors from various universities from Australia and other parts of the world attending this event. Hence, it's known as the G-R-A-N-D Opening.

Yes, those BIG shots and names from overseas are coming. Furthermore, our Chief Minister, Mr. Taib and his wife will appear at this ceremony too.

Supposedly, our Prime Minister, Mr. Pak Lah has agreed to turn up for this G-R-A-N-D opening too, but due to the by-election thingy, he's not coming. Not appearing anymore. At least, he's sending a representative to come.

Who knows, instead of having our Prime Minister, Pak Lah, we might have Pak Loh noodles coming? hmm....

Also, The G-R-A-N-D Opening will be held in MPH.

I mean, Swinburne's Multi Purpose Hall la...

More than a thousand of invited guests, lecturers and international students will flock together in this hall. As only two more days to go, construction workers are trying to get the preparation done. Props to be set up. Trial performances are read through daily. Organizing committee members are making every effort to get things flow without a hitch.

Inevitably, everyone is so hectic now.

You can even spot on Spiderman and Cicak man hanging on the ceiling. Ever wonder why Cicak Man is so slow behind Spiderman?

So, why am i writing about this G-R-A-N-D opening?

Proud to say, i, Johnson is involving in the Choir Singing for the G-R-A-N-D Opening. To be more precise, i was invited without my concession by Mdm Maggie to participate in this choir.

Frankly, I did feel of not wanting to sing at the first place, but after some thought, i reckon that this is a rare and golden opportunity for us and me to perform in Swinburne G-R-A-N-D Opening.

After all, it's only occurred once yea. Hey, it's the G-R-A-N-D Opening!

I, together with the choir members will sing Malaysian National Anthem and Australian National Anthem.

True enough, i couldn't recall when was the last time i actually stood straight up and sing our National Song with full dignity. Don't laugh, i know you are the same.

I admit that i don't have a pleasant and beautiful voice compares to others, but at least i am eligible *wink* to be part of the 40 students to sing in front of:

his wife, the man and the tall man.

You will never appreciate and think highly of how hard it is to actually sing our National Anthem properly. I remember during the morning assembly at my early Secondary days, i always tend to sing the Anthem without much energy, standing like a sotong and just babbling through the lyrics.

Don't laugh, i know you are the same. =P

Even worst, some of you could have forgotten our National Anthem lyrics too. True? =P

Our Choir instructor, Mr. Beng.

And this is where the chancellors will be sitting.

It's utterly different now. Knowing that we, the Choir vocalists are so significant for the kick off. We are called to come almost everyday to rehearse for only this two songs. Practice after practice.

The rehearsal.

And now it's in Choir mode, the projection of voices are required. The diction of each word is needed. The big wide mouth opened is necessary.

Photobucket

Woot!

Perhaps this is my first time that i am so enlivened and well prepared to sing our National song. Both songs keep stirring in my mind now.

A day left for myself to prepare.
