Have anyone watched "The Pursuit of Happyness" already?
Based on a true story. Nice movie to recommend to all of you. I capture loads of lessons through it. **thumbs up** Here's one of the quotes from the father to his son that i really like.
Chris Gardner (Father):"Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right?"
Christopher (son):"All right. "
Chris Gardner (Father):"You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you that you can't do it too. If you want somethin', go get it. Period."
Please watch!
To start with, I used to think that The Manhattan Fish Market is no more than just another ordinary rowdy and smelly market selling fishes. Nonetheless, it's really amazing to see how fishes can be prepared in several ways, such as Grill la.. Fry la... Steam la.. Roast la?? bla bla bla.. Til now i haven even placed my foot once to that place.Yearning for the day to come. Mussels... Lobsters...Prawns... wait for me please...
Located just right opposite Kenny Rogers. What a good Feng Sui. Surely that both sides have been working very hard to bring their business to the utmost. One sells chicken and the other sells fish.
**headache**
And it was today when i realized that i'm in error. Fish Market is no longer our main rival anymore, simply cause today during my work, i am so happened to stumble upon this outlet opposite Kenny Rogers. Initially i thought that it will going to be Apple Donuts, i'm wrong then. It's ...
This is not just another everyday Chicken rice shop in Kuching. Going to be launched in tHE Spring soon and very soon and very the soon. The tauke must has heaps of guts to inaugurate this outlet in tHe Spring.
Hmm.. Steam Chicken vs. Roasted Chicken.
I'm convinced that once when this Chicken rice Shop sets the ball rolling, at least 30% of Kenny Roger's business will slacken off at the first 2 weeks only, then everything will be back to normal again.
That's how Kuchingites rule...LOL!

Yeah...happy to see chic rice shop in KCH...

**A little help in puffing up the food.** In fact, its really delicious till the sambal has almost blazed my entire tongue. The sickening chilly oil, yet it is still irresistible to dip the whole piece of cake into it. Eesshh.... **nice bah**

----------------------------------------------------------I have no idea why Kenny Rogers' manager keep accepting new part-timers and now there's approximately 40++ workers in a restaurant. **speechless** And because of this, many of us are given limited hours to work.
Less hours mean less pay.
How am i going to hit my mark like that....
Streamyx connection seems to be very fickle for the past few nights. Couldn't log in to msn, send urgent files, check mails, watch youtube, read yahoo news and not forgetting, blogging! My life particularly at night has instantaneously become so hollow bah...
The only hours that my connection revives back to a normal speed is morning and afternoon, which means its my working hours. How to blog like that... Perhaps Telekom tries to play a prank with me. Eesshhh...
Anyway,
Kudos to tHe spring for providing free wireless access throughout the hall if i'm not mistaken.
Now everyone is happy. I can now utilize my break time to surf my blog. Cool cool.
See how

----------------------------------------------------------My friend's father just passed away on Saturday. His dad was still very young at age. Condolence to him and his family. My heart grieves every time when there's someone departs this life.
I have learned to value my family even more.
We don't know what lies ahead of us. But what we have been blessed with now, our family, our close buddies, our peers, our mentors and lots more, let's cherish them even more.
Noted, only ONE life to live, let's live it to the fullest. There's not a need to live it again for the second time if we live out the first properly.
So it was my fifth day working in Kenny Rogers. 50% of exhaustion and another 50% of excitement.
Guess that many of you would really want to know how's my working life yea? That's why by hook or by crook, i just need to
So let me get started!
First and foremost, I am gradually adapting well into this working habit. Haven been sacrificing lots of my sleeping hours. Sleep less and Work more.
Truthfully, the food there ain't that cheap at all. A Quarter meal that consists of 1/4 roasted chicken, one muffin and three side dishes cost approximately Rm 15.90. Okay, its still acceptable. Yet, the soft drinks cost Rm3.90 per cup! And this is really mahal!
**No complain please Johnson.**
One thing that stimulates me to stay on in KRR is the free meal provided for every workers. Proud to proclaim publicly that all of the KRR workers get to eat a Quarter meal for every break plus plus any soft drinks. Total estimation will reach around Rm 24 for each meal inclusive of services tax and government tax. Yea, that's totally F.O.C! And its for daily recess.
Hence, I will
After having my first day experience of working at The Spring, i can conclude that there's no proper management and seriousness there. The workers there were quite conceited to socialize with the juniors. Everyone was just so playful. The manager did not seem to be interested with the juniors
Furthermore, she's a phlegmatic for sure!
After my first day of working and training at The Spring, the manager asked both me and keith to go to Boulevard's branch the next day to complete our two days training. Cause KRR at Boulevard is the pioneering branch in Kuching.
Reached Boulevard at 9.30am and waited for our training. All of the juniors were so excited and quite punctual. Hmm.. So basically, the training consists of knowing the history of Kenny Rogers. Who founded KRR. Why and how was it started. And little familiarity of the proper standard service rules. What are the etiquettes and so on.
Ada plasma Tv eh..
There's a rule for every server who is taking order. "We must try out every single side dish in order to be able to differentiate taste."
To make you start drooling now. Check this out!
Free Chicken again! Nyam nyam!
The 12 side dishes to try out!
Met some new friends, Daniel chong, Lydia and bla bla bla (forget their names eh..)
It was Friday, had my last day training at Boulevard. Learned to improve in my serving and taking order. And of cause, there was much betterment in my performance.
Short conclusion of my two days training at Boulevard's branch:
After working and get coached at Boulevard for two days, i pretty delight in the management and system for sure! This has definitely portrayed the top-class standard of a restaurant. The supervisors and managers are so neighbourly, i mean super duper nice. There are no mischievous workmen to be found there. Everyone is so cooperative.
Not to deny, this circumstance did stir my thinking twice whether or not to switch my working location to Boulevard instead of pulling myself through in The Spring's after my first experience at The Spring's branch.
No worries, I'm a little pig-headed. Will stick to original plan.
It was Saturday.
After the sufficient training from the seniors, i'm ready! Hehe..
Was scheduled to work at 12pm till (you will know later) ... Weekends are always a hectic day for all workers. Lots and lots of customers will come in and out.
To cut my story short, let me just show you my third free meal. After realizing that eating more chickens might not be healthy, so i decided to take more fruits. Balancing my diet ma..
On Saturday I planned to work OT, since
Busy serving ... Sending .. taking orders. Yet, it was enjoyable.
One common phrase that keep floating in the air whenever there's a customer enter in is "Hai, welcome to KeNNYYYyyy RoGGGeerrrss.." Goshh... i have been listening to the same line over and over and over and over and over and over again for more than 8 hours .....
Hearing the saying for the first time is okay, nice and
Listening to it the second times is okay ...
Third times ....still acceptable..
Fourth times .... erm ... forcefully swallow those words.
After the fifth times ... I'm speechless ... The phrase was once a beautiful tone changed into a disgusting and irritating noise.. iisshh...
Working till 12 am seems to be kinda exhausting. True. But it's also worthwhile. We get to eat the leftover, i mean the remaining food. Not the chicken bones or half bite muffins la..
It was then almost 11pm. Asked permission from the manager whether we are allowed to conquer the rest of the fish fillets and roasted chickens, and our permission is granted! What to do, we caught the manager stealing the fish fillet too.. LOL!
Sometimes, after standing for hours and hours, you will realize how comfy when your butok get to rest on a chair for 10 seconds. Soon, you will value sitting down for hours!
Before we depart, i brought back more than ten muffins home. **evil laugh** Reached home with a torpid body. **snoring soundly**
It was Sunday.
Started to work at 3pm till 12am. And here's my free meal!
#Day 6#
It's monday.
Off day. And right here blogging!
I am assured that this is just the beginning of everything. More weeks ahead. Meet new colleagues. Roth, Jackson, Murphy, Swing .... Everyone is just so spontaneous in serving. Having fun time in serving together too.
Before i chao, here's one joke that i want to share with all of you. Haiyo, Kuching's famous phrase: "Got good thing must share mah..". An encounter between me and a female customer while i was taking her order.
Me: "Ms, which side dish would you like to have?"
Ms: "Can i have one Cholesterol please?"
Me: **blur for a moment** "You mean coleslaw, Ms?"
Ms: **Speechless**
After all, laughter is still the best medicine, right? LOL!

"Sleep less, Work hard!"
--Motto of the month-- LOL!
Starbucks is now rather widespread in Kuching, at The Spring la.. Kuching International Airport la.. Boulevard (coming soon la..). Widely known as the King of all coffees. Undeniably its still slightly nicer and double thumbs up compare to Coffee bean. Agree right people?
Personally, i am not a coffee freak. But ...
Why is it so special than most of coffees out there? Coffee junkies would rather spend Rm10 plus plus just to purchase their favourite mocha la.. espresso... latte la.... People just love to visit Starbucks. Even one of my friend's brother has won the "Most loyal customer" from Starbucks.
-_-"
Please clear my confusion. :(
Comments:
Coffee Bean and Starbucks coffee uses different kinds of coffee beans (or powder?) than the standard kopitiam one. The taste also different. Not necessarily better-tasting; I think that's a matter of personal preference.
But hey! Coffee Bean and Starbucks are two of the few shops that serve cappuccino in Kuching (albeit super expensively). Can't get that in the kopitiams.

----------------------------------------------------------For the sake of working, i was asked politely by the manager to trim off my pony tail. No worries, Johnson is very sacrificial de ... LOL!
Say bye-bye to Pony tail!
I recalled what Mr. Ooi, who was Professional Engineering's lecturer, once said "Your punctuality shows your professionality." So with the chun-chun kinda of spirit, both Keith and I reached The Spring before time, thinking that we would have something light and easy to do. Manatau the manager ordered both of us to do housecleaning.
Mopping the floor, sweeping the floor, polishing the window ... bla bla bla ... - -" Okay, no complaining with these.
To make the story even worst, there was actually a sickening smell coming out from the mop. Yucks! Notwithstanding, i still need to do my housecleaning. Trying my best to pretend that the mop is clean and enjoying my time of mopping the floor. Anyway, no one will realize that the floor is actually oily and contaminated. Kudos to the aircon that successfully suck up the wonderful odour. **Shh...don't spread this news. LOL! You know i know enough liaw.. haha**
Eww.. Wanna vomit ..yucks!!! If you wanna know what's the smell like, here's some clue: Go to any septic tank, open the cap and place your nose in it for 3 seconds only! And you will then be aware of how fantastic the smell is.
Here's the bright and clean side, working in Kenny Rogers is definitely beneficial. Simply because all of the workers get to eat this (picture below) for their tea break everyday.
The softness of the roasted meat, the savoury Black Pepper gravy, the tempting smell ... uuhhh la la ...**thumbs up!**
So hopefully i will not get sick and tired of eating those stuffs. Pizza is still in my phobia's list , wishfully that roasted chicken will not and never be listed in it.
Few more weeks to pull myself through! At least there's a motivation to drive me on strongly to persevere.
Don't ask me what's that!
Comments:
OMG johnson the smell is still in my nose. yucks. wanna vomit. i think now im actually having cold sweat sickness because of that and im really really uneasy. so horrible that every smell that goes in my nose smells like that pale. YUCKER!!!

It is really rare to spot on any Christian cafe in Kuching, fully decorated with verses and surrounded with Christian songs. And i could hardly find one.
Last wed, a friend of mine brought me to this place called Shiloh. Located behind Travillion. Later did i know, it was actually a Christian cafe. From outside, it appeared to be just another pubs in Travillion.
Even there's a window sticker that stated "Follow God closely". huuu... you better do.
The window sticker did not bring much wuuu haaa to me, what really woo my attention was this ....
Besides that, one of the walls was printed with the name of God.
Fish fillet rice.

Still remember about my part-time job interview in Starbucks?
That was about 3 weeks ago. After i turned up for the interview, i was so convinced that i will get the job, the questions quite straight forward. However ..... Sad to say that Starbucks did not want to hire me , or should i say i'm a little more standard for another better job. LOL!
Not to give up yet, I was then introduced to another job.
Yeap, Kenny Rogers Roaster. This is the one located in Boulevard mall. Previously, there was the first Kenny Rogers at Sarawak Plaza, and with the worse luck, this cafeteria was then declared bankrupt.
Nonetheless, I will be going for my second interview at The Spring's Kenny Rogers. So hopefully my first ever part time job will be approved.

It was last day before 2008, someone-and-you-know-who-you-are decided to organize a birthday party at Pizza Hut. Thinking that it was fine to enjoy my last meal before the run. Ate quite a lot, okay, i mean overloaded. Felt a little uneasy. Hoping that everything will be fine after a short rest. However, everything became a disaster when i reached home. I felt so uncomfortable and dizzy.
Vomited for 7 times!
Both my legs shivered whenever i tried to stand up
My food in my tummy couldn't digest properly.
My dream of completing the Jogathon has evaporated. No more no more. While the others were enjoying their run on the next day, i was enjoying my torture at home.
