Local and International fellowship

I just came back from my youth group. And it was a combine with the International Fellowship Group. Great Great! I never invite any friends from other country to join, and today i did! A few weeks ago, i've decided to invite one of my international friend, Gorden, to join us. And amazingly, my prayer was answered! He joined just now together with Emmanuel, his roommate. Wow, nice name! Emmanuel means "God is with us". A total of 40++ people!

Tittle-tattle: After evaluate throught the previous post's comments on the band name, I have come to a conclusion. And i decided to name our band "SILENT MODE". Guess that it accords with us. Reason: We are so bising like magpies in everywhere. So when comes to making music, we mute our speech and become "silent mode". Ok? Satisfying? Finalized!

An electrifying and agitation upcoming event!

As i've mentioned in my previous post that my friends and i are going to present a song during Swin Nite this coming Saturday night. I'd missed last year's Swin Nite. Can't catch a glimpse of the ambience yet. I'm thrilled and in high spirit. This morning i have taken the photo of the poster. Frankly speaking, this poster hardly caught my attention untill i noticed another ordinary unpatterned A3 paper sticked at the notice board. Here it is:

Take a closer look at the theme, "It starts tonight".

Each ticket costs around Rm 8.00, some of the SSSC (Swinburne Sarawak Student Council) members told me that we're going to have buffet style dinner. Mini snack bar set up to prepare food like Sushi, aloha ~~don't ask me what's that, i have no idea~~. Only 180 people are allowed to go. Can't blame, cause it is held at Swinburne Auditorium ~~low-class~~. Unlike last year our prom nite held at Civic Center which contained more than 300 people. The tickets start to sold today and before 3pm, the tickets left only 29 copies. ~~Desperated goers???~~

How's our band getting on? I went to Student Lounge and i saw the performance list and there were around 8 performers included ours. And aldrin said that they are skilled and experience. Guess he has pulled down our confidence from 73% to 37%. hehe... but to me, i'm quite happy to see all our band members though they have limited skills, but the eagerness to practice daily to make sure their part played well. Thanks! Avery ~~who never know how to strum guitar~~ has practiced day and night for his strumming. Aldrin ~~who plays bass~~ keep on practicing just to ~~impress......~~. But our singers/singer, *unidentified human*, is not fully recovered yet from its' cough. It's definately worried that it might disappointed us. But after some short talk with it, i just told it not to worry to much but enjoy singing and commit everything to God. Hopefully it helps. We will be going to have few more practice before the night.

1st prize : Rm 150
2nd prize: Rm100
3rd prize: Rm 50
Consolation prize for every performers: Rm 50 (same as 3rd prize?? even you do soundcheck as part of the performance, you will earn Rm50 just like that?? )
**2 minutes can earn Rm50!! Worthwhile!!**

All the best pals! Remember that this is more than a performance, it is a humble beginning for us to start off with our talents and utilize it to the best for God. Cheers! Even if we only get Rm50, we still can makan Pizza together with the coupon provided. Haha..

Ok, i need some suggestions from you guys. We just found out that we need a name for our band. And Avery, Aldrin and I have been thinking for the whole afternoon just to get an unabashed band name. Aldrin suggested these, "Wonderful Band, cheeseburger, soundproof, my name is stupid." Imagine when the MC welcome us, "Ladies and gentle, present to you the next band my name is stupid!!!..." Haha.. These are what avery has suggested, " Got space?, Hotel california, eternal love, the hard rockers, the rock machine, Saddam Hussien". Lame right? Let's *Jing jing jing together**.

How bout mine? Wuahaha.. i suggested, "Soundcheck, The Chipmunks, Cho-soung-hui, Silent Mode, Please vote for them.." Imagine the MC says, "Ladies and gentlemen, let's me present to you the band Please vote for them!.." haha..

And we finally agreed with this band name, "Silent mode".. Nice? Do throw me some suggestions yea. I need it before wednesday. Thanks! Appreciate it a lot!

Dr. M's conception for bloggers

I read The Borneo Post yesterday afternoon, and i came across this short interview by our former Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir.

Dr. M stated: --Be truthful in blogging.---

Dr. M said: "The main thing is stick to the truth, don't exaggerate things and don't make up reports."
"As long as you are publishing something that is truthful and also that is not calculated to arouse passions and distabilise the country, i think you are doing the right thing, " he said.
Cool! Dr. M is trying to protect bloggers from falsely accused i guess.

So, don't worry what you have posted in your blog. Your life documentaries, thoughts......blah blah.. as long you stick to the truth, you are saved, ~~i guess??!!~~ Inversely, if you are a terrible gossipmonger who posted invalid information concerning Johnson is not a good guy, Johnson is mischievous and booming guy in your blog. Then, i make certain that you might be dragged to a user-friendly hotel and eat free curry rice. Haha.. kidding kidding.

Frankly speaking, i enjoy blogging although i'm just a 2 months old rookie. I will keep updating myself. Remember, whatever i posted up here. Don't get offended if i've mentioned some of your names here. Simply because i'm "sticking to the truth" (Mahathir 2007). So do enjoy your stay here. I noticed that a lot of nameless and concealed annonymous keep on viewing my blog daily. ~~Not self-promoting yea~~. Jamming!

This morning i went to a studio for jamming with my baboon mates. It was my first experience too. Haha. Frankly speaking, in my mind i thought that the studio that i will be going was something like this:

Unfortunately, it was just another Cloud 9 dream for me. My dreams faded away!! The studio that we went to is located near Pending area. The owner is Mr. Jackson Lim.

The studio is converted from a room of the owner's house. A size of 5m X 2.5m. I'm serious! So crampy. Imagine 9 people hemmed into the dark ~~storeroom~~. Ok no complains.

We practiced for 2 hours just to get the music harmonized. Not bad, everyone was sweating like.... I almost pengsan due to the lack of oxygen. Thanks to Mr. Jackson who is smart enough to supply this for us:

A 70's air con with egg cartons on the wall. Don't worry, we are not playing in the chicken farm. The use of these egg cartons is to prevent echo. Without those cartons, we might be playing in Mulu Cave.

During jamming section,

I'm just having a break k. *Have a break, have kit-kat*

While Avery was practicing his intro part, suddenly Soon Eng voiced out: "Between the 3 of us, i can play the intro part the best! " Oh man! This kid was trying to steal Avery's spotlight! Come on la...haha.. Anyway, i'm quite satisfied with our first rehearsel. I won't post up the rehearsel video yet. It might sound very teruk-ing. Wait untill our Swinburne night performance, then i will edit the clips. And you will know what is the song we are singing too.

Please come to Swinburne night and support us. This will going to be our first ever performance. No pride no arrogance with our simple skills. We are just doing our best and share our talents in a team.

Deepest condolences to the victims of the shootout in America. I'm really downcast to see a lot of lives ended just like that. Sad sad. You can check the list of the victims here. Keep the families in prayer. God bless.

Taipei 101 Café

How will you feel if you are given a chance to visit Taipei 101, 台北101?
Yea! Months ago, i received an e-mail from Airasia that i have 2 free flights to Taiwan. I never have a chance to been to our Petronas Twin Towers. And last Saturday, i went to Taipei 101. Speechless? Yea! The World's tallest building! Standing up high with 509 meters from the ground till the needle. My dream finally came true! Unbelievable? Yea, better don't believe it. Just another bluff.

The "Taipei 101" that i went to was not the tallest building in the world, instead i should call it the shortest building. Take a look.

Our Kuching Taipei 101, located at BDC. At least i've been to 'Taipei 101' k. Pretty high-class i guess, compare to some cafeteria.

I kinda like the surrounding there, reposeful and relaxing. Everything was made of wood.

But this peaceful enviroment was destoyed by a bunch of baboons who started to make noice. I mean Avery, the one who was showing off this wallet.

This was what i ordered. Hot and Spicy Noodle aka. *Ma Lak Mian*. I ordered Chao lak de. And i wanted to challenge my friends who ordered Siao Lak, Zhung lak and Da lak. And here am i, Chao lak!!

Look at how aromatic it was!

Perservering. My tummy was burning like hell! I refused to give up still. Hammering all the way to finish my Chao Lak Mian. Go Johnson! Feeling like eating in the spa.

I ordered two cups of Soya Drinks to vanquish the chao lakness. 2 cups vs 1 chao lak mian..In the end........

I gave up. I only managed to finish 49.99% of it. It was extremely spicy k. It was not only chao lak, i guess they added in wasabi, Black & white pepper, red chili....

Thank God for these two elephantine air cons that were sufficient to cool down my boiling tummy.
Lesson that i've learnt: 1) Don't order any drinks when you eat Mak Lak mian, just order ice.

Wow... Johnson 49.99% is ok if me I think... I would have drink at least 3 cups of the soya drink and my face would be as red as the "sun wu Kong's" buttocks lol...
